Happy New Year!

Please make this one resolution. Exist in photographs. Don't hide, don't wait until your hair is better, until you've lost weight, until you're ready. Just live. Be photographed. Someday, that printed (please print those pictures too!) image will be the only thing your loved ones will have. Let them have more than a memory.
You are beautiful, you are loved, you deserve to exist both now and in photographs. And when you are someday gone, those images will be more precious than anything else to the people who loved you.

Heather and Scott {Engagement Photography}

Before their session, Heather told me that neither they were not picture people and didn't really like having their pictures taken. Now I can totally understand that because I'm not a big fan either but I was sure I could make it fun for them anyway.

We went to a couple locations, hid in some trees, which probably looked funny to passersby and then went to my favorite place! Everyone gives me the "you're crazy" look when we get there but it's my favorite for a reason, it's beautiful in pictures!

After the last shot Scott told me that he'd had fun and they were both excited to see what the pictures looked like. I know I'm happy with the images and can't wait for Heather and Scott's wedding now!

Engagement photography Garden city ks

Jacob {Lakin, KS Senior Photography}

Jacob decided on a very cold December day for his session. When we got to our second location he remembered that he had wanted to take pictures with his guitar but had forgotten it. So his Mom was nice enough to go and get it. And when she brought it back he said, maybe we should do pictures by a fire and of course I said sure!

Later, when it was finally time for the guitar shots it was around 20 degrees! Jacob asked me what we should do and I told him I though we were lighting a fire! So he did and I can say without a doubt that Jacob, his Mom, little brother and I were all grateful for it! Plus it made for some pretty cool shots if I do say so... and I do!

Aurora {Maternity photography session}

Aurora came to the studio with her family and I can't even tell you how excited I was when she agreed to try my favorite kind of maternity images! I love getting to photograph women in one of the most beautiful time of their lives. Aurora is gorgeous and her family is beautiful!

Faulconer {Family Photography Session, Holcomb KS}

I've known the Faulconer family for three years and finally got to do a session with them a couple weeks ago. We had a bit of an adventure on an abandoned farm, lots of stickers (not the fun kind) and ended the session with them sitting in a deer bed. I did make sure there wasn't any poop first! They had beautiful weather which is always hit or miss this time of year but we were all glad it wasn't cold or windy. Aren't they a great looking bunch?!

Hadley {Newborn photography session}

Hadley was my first newborn in the new studio, in fact I got the call that she was going to be born right as we finished painting. Talk about great timing!

She brought her Mom, Dad and three siblings with her to her session which made for a fun time! Her Mom made the lovely little cocoon that I love and the sweet little hat, she's so talented! They're such a beautiful family.

Tyler {Deerfield 2015 Senior Photography Session}

I'd gotten to meet Tyler earlier this summer when he helped teach my middle kid swimming lessons. She is a big fan of her "buddy" as the swim coaches are called. So I was very excited to work with Tyler.
We had a little bit of an adventure on his session getting to visit a great Aunt's property with a old abandoned house and rows and rows of vintage cars and trucks. We also got to visit the high school gym and track for some shots!

It was a super fun session and we got to try some new stuff which I always love doing! Tyler is a great person and I'm so glad to have gotten to know him a little better!

Caitlin {2015 Senior, Holcomb KS}

My very favorite part of my Senior model program is getting to see the senior at least twice in their senior year and seeing how much they've grown and changed. We notice the change when they're little but it's amazing to me every year and every Senior just how much change there is in them!

We got to hang out with her Grandpa towards the end of her session and borrow his antique tractor for a couple shots, he was such a hoot!

And Caitlin's sister was an excellent dress thrower, we couldn't have gotten the shot without her.

Alexandria {2015 Garden City Senior Photography}

Alexandria did a fantastic job at her Senior session! She also brought her adorable son for a few shots too. It was so nice to meet her and her family!

Vanessa and Jerry {Engagement Photography Session, Garden City, KS}

Many months ago Vanessa contacted me to do a couples session with her and her boyfriend. But then a couple months ago she told me we were switching to an engagement session! I'm so excited for them, and it was great to meet Vanessa in person after talking for so long.

They are such a sweet couple and I'm so glad to get to work with them. After their engagement session I can't wait for their wedding day!

Crystal {2015 Senior, Deerfield KS}

Crystal had a very windy and chilly day for her session but she was a trooper and totally rocked her session. I also got to try out some new lighting techniques I've been practicing and everything worked perfectly, even with the wind blowing over a light stand :(

I get to work with the best Senior girls, they've all been gorgeous and have had great attitudes too!

Kansas has some of the most beautiful sunsets, every night is something new and beautiful!

Aleasha and Kyle {Engagement photography in Garden City, KS}

For Aleasha and Kyle's engagement session we went to Kyle's family farm, which I loved! I appreciate so much what the farming community does, it's such hard work.

Aleasha and Kyle have such a wonderful connection and great chemistry. They really made my job easy, even with 3 pickup trucks, a tractor and a dog in their session!

Laci and Joe {Married} Garden City Ks wedding photographer

Laci and Joe had a fabulous wedding with lots of gold glittery details which I personally am a big fan of! They're both big into softball, which is how they met, so we went to the baseball field to do some of their wedding photos! They also got to use an antique car that's been in the family for awhile to exit the wedding and we borrowed it again later for a quick couple of shots.

Em and Lance {Married, Garden City KS wedding photography}

Em and Lance had a beautiful September wedding. The bride was stunning and her dress was simply gorgeous. They did a fantastic job with their wedding and reception decor, keeping a rustic theme.

Liz, the bride's sister sang "Do you want to build a snowman" from the movie Frozen after her speech at the reception and I don't think there was a dry eye, I know I got teary!

I'm so glad I got to capture their day!

Brianna {2015 Senior, Holcomb KS, Senior Photography}

I'm so glad I got to photograph Brianna in her Senior year. I'd gotten to photograph her older brother last year and I really have enjoyed getting to know their family and so it was nice to see them again!

Brianna got beautiful light for the first half and then we were literally running to beat the dark, lol! It was a fun session and I think she looks beautiful!

Alyssa {2015 Garden City, KS Senior Photography}

Alyssa decided to have her session at El Rancho Exotica which I'd never been to. It was so pretty and they were very helpful. Alyssa rocked her session and I'm so excited to share it with you!

Rosa {2015 Senior, Garden City KS}

Rosa was so fun to photograph! We tried some new poses and new locations that turned out great. And she brought her javelin which was fun to photograph with her. We photographed until dark and the last super moon of the year rose into the sky and we managed to get a shot with it too.

Jason {first birthday session - Lakin, KS}

Jason's mom contacted me to do a first birthday session on their property. On the way to their house it started to rain and I got a little nervous that we'd have to reschedule but the rain stayed away from their house and we got beautiful light!

I've been wanting to do baby in the tub pictures for so long and am so happy with how these turned out! We even managed so sneak in a family shot at the end of Jason's session.

Chantell and Ryan {Trash the Dress, Deerfield KS}

I was supposed to shoot Chantell and Ryan's wedding but they opted to elope. So a couple months ago they decided to do a trash the dress session with me to get wall art with Chantell in her wedding dress and to get some fun images too!

On the day of their session the storm clouds rolled in, the wind picked up and a rainbow appeared! It really helped make the images more beautiful and I'm so glad it showed up!

Barr {Family Session, Garden City KS}

Andrea and her adorable little girls came to see me last year and they were very busy little girls. This year was no different, lol! It was wonderful to see them again, they'd grown so much!
