Brooke came from Tribune for her session and I'm so glad she did! She brought her Mom and we got to do some images at the studio, which I hardly ever get to do. Brooke was a little worried they'd look like school pictures, but they look gorgeous! I'm so glad she gave it a shot!
The best part is getting to show your personality and things you enjoy at your session, this time we got to show Brooke's love of reading in a fun way!
Hannah {Garden City KS Senior 2016}
Hannah was a complete natural at her session and so, so fun to work with! I used lights at the track which turned out exactly how I wanted despite it being again crazy windy, like you know it almost always is in western KS.
Check it out!
Chelsey {Garden City KS Senior 2016}
Chelsey is a life guard so of course we had to do some pictures at and in the pool! I'd never even been to the big pool before and dang, it's huge!
Like most Seniors, Chelsey opted to do both downtown and then trees and grass, and she knocked it out of the park! We got to go my favorite place and I think she looks like Pocahontas in the river images, don't you?
Cinthia {Garden City KS Senior}
Cinthia brought her Mom and her sister to her session and we walked around downtown for some spots before heading to a local church and then to my favorite place! The sunset wasn't particularly exciting which made me feel terrible since that was something particular that Cinthia wanted. It sure would be nice to get to control the weather! Even so, we got some beautiful images and it was fun to get to hang out!

Avery {Newborn, Garden City KS}
Miss Avery came to the studio at 14 days old and is such an adorable little squish! She's a well loved little girl and I'm so happy for her family that she has joined them!
Everett {Birthday session}
Everett had his session in the studio, mostly because it's easier to contain him there! Three is such a busy age. He's currently into super heroes, fishing and dinosaurs among other things. So I did a super simple fishing set up for him and he also showed me his best dinosaur roar!
Micah and Scott {Engaged, Garden City KS}
I've known Micah for a few years so I was super excited when she inquired about an engagement session and their wedding photography. We brainstormed together and came up with the balloon idea and I can't even tell you how happy we all were with the outcome!
These two just radiated love and it was so wonderful to see. Couples in love are a beautiful thing!
Hannah {2016 Senior Model, Garden City KS}
I'd met Hannah at a wedding last year where she was a bridesmaid and I knew I wanted to work with her for her Senior year! It was great to get to hang out with her and her Mom and try new things. I can't wait to see what we do for her second session!
If you know Hannah, she does have a card for $50 off your session!
Julie and Brett {Engaged}
Julie and Brett are so dang cute together! It was so fun getting to know the two of them, they're such a fun couple and I can't wait for their wedding!
Madison {2016 Senior Model, Lakin KS}
Madison and I had a heck of a time getting her session scheduled. Four different times it was either raining, or it was crazy windy. Finally we went ahead with her session and then it started to rain in Lakin. So we went to Deerfield, and then the wind picked up. Then it started to sprinkle. So we went back to Lakin to the baseball fields and it was sunny again! It was still windy but when we went to the river, the wind calmed down, hooray! It was quite and adventure for us and Madison did a wonderful job!
As a Senior Model Madison does have $50 credits she can give you if you know her!
Mariel {2016 Senior Model, Holcomb KS}
Mariel had her session way earlier this summer, I'm just seriously behind on blogging! She did a great job and it was lots of fun to hang out with her, her mom and her boyfriend. We got to try new places which I always like and new poses which is something I always try and do!
Levi {Newborn, Garden City KS}
Levi and his parents came to the studio when he was 10 days old. I love getting to capture some of the first family pictures. Levi was such a sweetie and he kept sticking his tongue out almost the entire session, which was so funny! It was so nice to meet you guys, thank you for letting me capture this time in your lives!
Carolyn and Kyle {Married in Cimarron KS}
Carolyn and Kyle had a beautiful wedding in a small church in Cimarron in July. Their first look was sweet, it's so wonderful to see couples have that moment with each other. It doesn't ruin the walk down the aisle either, as Carolyn cried on her way to meet Kyle.
At the reception with a gorgeous cake and beautiful flowers I learned that Kyle insisted on real flowers for their wedding day, and they were gorgeous! He made the right call for sure ;)
Since Carolyn and Kyle didn't have dancing at their reception, they ended the evening earlier which made it possible for us to do their creative portraits during the golden hour, which is about an hour before sunset. This is like heaven on earth for me! The light is most beautiful at this time of day, unless you're willing to do them at dawn and that's not something I'm thrilled with, lol! And they were willing to sit on the grass which made for some beautiful images we otherwise couldn't have done.
Thank you so much for choosing me to capture your wedding day! I wish you two a long happy marriage.
Megan and Binh {Wedding in Garden City KS}
Megan and Binh came back to Megan's hometown for their June wedding, all the way from California. They had their tea ceremony the day before the wedding and though I don't speak Vietnamese it was obvious that their family and friends were happy to celebrate with them. It was also really cool for me to experience something new, even if I didn't know what exactly was going on. And I was very grateful for the help in directing me where I needed to go next to get the shot!
Their ceremony and reception were held on Saturday. I tried Vietnamese food for the first time and Megan and Binh's guests were so kind to help me and also to explain that it's not normal food but extra fancy food, lol! Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your wedding day!
Congrats on your marriage Megan and Binh, I hope you have a long happy one!
Nickole and Aydan {Wedding in Garden City KS}
Nickole and Aydan had a glamorous Great Gatsby themed wedding in June. They did a wonderful job decorating for the ceremony and the reception, we were totally impressed with how beautiful everything was!
It was easy to see how happy their families and friends were to celebrate with Nickole and Aydan, I wish you two a long and happy marriage!
Aleasha and Kyle {Wedding in Garden City KS}
Aleasha and Kyle had a beautiful rustic June wedding. Because both of them come from farming families they brought touches of the farm to the wedding. Instead of a sand ceremony the opted to pour grain from their family farms into one bigger jar and all their parents brought the jars together at the beginning of the ceremony, which was wonderful! Aleasha had Kyle's ring custom made with diamond plate, which may be one of the coolest mens wedding rings I've seen!
Aleasha and Kyle we adventurous enough to go down to the river for a few creative portraits and they ended up being some of their favorite images!
At their reception we got to see their amazing groom's cake, that was a replica of one of Kyle's trucks!
They were a super fun group at the reception, I love, love the reception when everyone is getting their boogie on!
Thank you so much for choosing me to capture this wonderful time in your lives. I can't even tell you how happy I am to have gotten to know the two of you and know you'll grow old together beautifully.
Jenna and Travis {Wedding Reception in Garden City KS}
Jenna and Travis got married in Mexico and then had their reception in Garden which is Jenna's hometown. We started by taking pictures at the zoo before the reception started and then the party started!
They were a super fun group, with tons of laughter and dancing. Congrats Jenna and Travis, it was so nice to meet you guys and I hope you have a long and happy marriage!
Hannah {2016 Senior Garden City KS}
It rained the morning of Hannah's session and I was worried we'd need to reschedule but it cleared up and left some pretty gorgeous clouds!
Since Hannah does track, hurdles and volleyball we decided to photograph all her track and volleyball images at the track and I think they turned out awesome!
We tried some new spots downtown and Hannah really killed her entire session. It was so hard to wait until her reveal appointment to share! Thank you for choosing me to photograph you Hannah!
Cinthia {2016 Senior Garden City KS}
Cinthia brought her adorable dog to part of her session, well technically her Mom brought her dog over for a little while. We went to a couple different locations, if possible it's nice to find new spots. She did a great job at her session and it was super fun!
Chelsey {2016 Senior, Garden City KS}
Chelsey has been a life guard for a little while, so she wanted to have some of her images at the pool where she works, which is always fun for me!
On our walk around downtown to different locations we also ran into a whole bunch of fire ants, which was maybe less than fun. Actually it was kind of painful! It's amazing a bug so small can hurt so much! We quickly moved from that spot to a different one that didn't have fire ants. No worries, I remember where those little stinkers are so we won't be going there again, lol!
Chelsey had a beautiful sunset for her session, something that we usually get in Kansas, but still not something to take for granted. Every single one is different and amazing. She did an amazing job and it was so fun to work with her and get to know her better!
